03.02.2024 – Das Chessable Masters ist ein Onlineturnier mit 10+2-Partien. Insgesamt spielen 56 Teilnehmer in drei "Divisionen". - In den Viertelfinalmatches der Division I gab es am Freitag diese Ergebnisse: Carlsen 2,5:1,5 So, Vachier-Lagrave 2:3 Lazavik, Nepomniachtchi 1:3 Martinez und Fedoseev 2,5:1,5 Firouzja. Am Samstag spielen die Verlierer ihre 1. Runde und die Gewinner das Halbfinale. - In Division II gewann Vincent Keymer glatt mit 3:0 gegen Peter Svidler. Chessable Masters

In den K.-o.-Runden werden Best-of-Four-Matches gespielt, die auch nach drei Partien beendet sein können, wenn ein Spieler dann bereits über 2,5 Punkte verfügt. Im Fall von Gleichstand nach den vier Partien entscheidet eine Armageddonpartie. Dieser Fall war gestern in der Division I bei Vachier-Lagrave und Lazavik nach vier Remisen in den regulären Partien gegeben.

Magnus Carlsen gewann, bei drei Remisen in den an deren Partien, ein Spiel gegen Wesley So - wegen Zeitüberschreitung von So in einer eigentlich für ihn nicht verlorenen Stellung! Unser Endspielexperte Dr. Karsten Müller hat die interessanteste Remispartie analysiert:

Mit 11...Ne4! kann Schwarz g5 verteidigen: 12.dxe6 Nxc3 13.Bxc3 Nf6 Sg5 wäre jetzt witzlos, weil das angestrebte Zielfeld e6 von einem eigenen Bauern besetzt ist. 12.Ng5! Re8 Oder 12...Nb8 13.c5!± 13.Ne6 Nf8 14.Nxg7 Kxg7 15.Rae1
Jetzt hat Schwarz weißfeldrige und schwarzfeldrige Schwächen, und das in einer Stellung, die nach einem flüchtigen Blick zunächst noch stabil erscheint. 15...g5? Mit diesem "holländischen" Angriffsversuch überdehnt Schwarz seine Möglichkeiten. Nach 15...a5± wäre es für Weiß nicht so leicht gewesen. 16.f4! Jetzt kann Weiß auf jeden Fall Linien und Diagonalen öffnen. Ng6 17.fxe5 Nxe5 18.Nb5! Dieser Springer will sich nach d4 verbessern.
