Die 21-jährige Kasachin Zhansaya Abdumalik machte mit der eine ganze Generation älteren Antoaneta Stefanova kurzen Prozess, nachdem das Mitglied der Bulgarischen Nationalversammlung (das stimmt tatsächlich!) die Eröffnung komplett verkorkst hatte:

Zu diesem Zeitpunkt ging es Stefanovas Dame noch gut!
Auch Elisabeth Pähtz musste sich eine misslungene Eröffnungsbehandlung ankreiden lassen. Die Deutsche stand anschließend deutlich auf Verlust. Doch dann brachte sie ihren 24. Zug aufs Brett. Dieser sah aus wie ein Patzer, aber tatsächlich war es wohl ein cleverer Versuch, nicht nur das größte Problem der Stellung zu lösen (nämlich den tatenlosen Th8 loszuwerden), sondern zugleich ein wenig zu "zaubern". Kashlinskaya fehlte es danach jedenfalls irgendwie an Nervenstärke: Erst verlor sie ihren Vorteil, dann das Remis.
