" Bulgarian Clairvoyant
Forecasts Topalov's Titles
28.11.2005. Some ten years ago Vanga, a famous Bulgarian
clairvoyant, now deceased and revered by many Bulgarian as a Saint, forecast the
Bulgarian world title in chess. The sensational revelation belongs to Kirsan
Ilyumzhinov, the FIDE president.
"I was sent a message from Vanga saying that small Bulgaria would have its world
champions in chess," said Ilymdzhinov. The forecast came true. Vesselin Topalov
won the world title in San Luis (Argentina), and Antoaneta Stefanova - in Elista
(Kalmykia).
Meanwhile Vesselin Topalov who is an honorary guest of the first chess festival
Puertos de Las Palmas gave a detailed interview to journalists from the largest
of the Canaries. The world chess champion said he would be delighted to meet
Garry Kasparov. "No man is unbeatable and frankly speaking I believe I have some
chances against him. I confess the best Topalov is weaker than the best Kasparov
but he is 40 now and I am in my prime," Topalov said. Answering a journalist's
question he said due to his challenge-loving character he thought he was more
like Kasparov than Fischer."
