15.11.2022 – Der russische Schachverband war mit 73 Kindern und Jugendlichen zur Jugendeuropameisterschaft nach Antalya angereist und war am Ende der erfolgreichste Verband. Am Montag endeten die Jugendeuropameisterschaften, die vom türkischen Schachverband in Antalya ausgerichtet wurden. Fast 1000 Kinder und Jugendliche aus 46 europäischen Ländern beteiligten sich in insgesamt 12 Gruppen. In den Altersklassen U8 bis U18 wurden parallel offene Wettbewerbe und Turniere für Mädchen durchgeführt.

Der russische Schachverband, der plante in den Asiatischen Kontinentalverband zu wechseln, war mit 73 Kindern und Jugendlichen am Start, die alle unter FIDE-Flagge spielten. Die Russen stellten hinter dem Gastgeber Türkei das größte Kontingent holten über alle Wettbewerbe viele Medaillen und räumten besonders in den Mädchenturnieren ab.

In der U18 feierten die Russen einen Doppelsieg.

Die Sieger U18

In der U14w gingen alle drei Medaillen an die Russinnen. Den deutlichsten Sieg feierte Mariam Mkrtchyan aus Armenien in der U18w mit 8,5 Punkten in 9 Runden.

Bester deutscher Spieler wurde Tingrui Shen als Fünfter in der U10. Christoph Dahl spielte in der U18 immer oben mit und belegte schließlich den 9. Platz. Auch Yunqi Li und Michelle Trunz kamen als Neunte ins Ziel.

Zur Siegerehrung kam FIDE-Präsident Arkady Dvorkovich nach Antalya.
