Anish Giri gewann in der 2. Runde nach seiner Niederlage im Tiebreak gegen Jan-Krzysztof Duda immerhin noch einen Punkt und liegt jetzt alleine auf Platz 2. In der ersten Partie gegen Duda gelang Giri die Rettung ins Remis, weil er für seinen Springer die korrekte Route wählte:
