Die deutsche Mannschaft scheint sich von ihrem Fehlstart in Runde 1 erholt zu haben. Nach dem Sieg gegen die Schweiz in Runde 2 kam Deutschlad in Runde 3 zu einem überzeugenden Sieg gegen Gastgeber Georgien, wobei Vincent Keymer und Rasmus Svane zwei lehrbuchartige positionelle Siege gelangen.
Keymer hatte Schwarz gegen Mikheil Mchedlishvili und überspielte seinen Gegner in einem Spanier ohne je große Verwicklungen zuzulassen.
Rasmus Svane gelang gegen Levan Pantsulaia ebenfalls ein überzeugender Sieg:
Weniger gut lief es für Matthias Blübaum, der im Damenendspiel von Baadur Jobava überspielt wurde. Für den entscheidenden Sieg sorgte dann jedoch Frederik Svane, der eine lange ausgeglichene Partie im Endspiel gegen Luka Paichadze gewinnen konnte.
In der Gesamtwertung liegt Deutschland damit nach drei Runden mit zwei Siegen und einer Niederlage auf Platz 15. Zwei Mannschaften konnten alle drei Kämpfe gewinnen: Serbien und Griechenland. Sie liegen gemeinsam an der Spitze, wobei Serbien allerdings einen Brettpunkt mehr hat.

Im Open war Deutschland gegen Georgien nominell Favorit, bei den Frauen hatten die Georgierinnen an allen vier Brettern deutliche Elo-Vorteile. Umso beeindruckender ist der 2,5-1,5 Erfolg des deutschen Teams. Matchwinnerin war Hanna Marie Klek, deren Springer gegen Nino Batsaishvili bis fast ganz zum Schluss unermüdlich arbeitete.
