Sieg in der Schlussrunde
Die Entscheidung über den Turniersieg im "Qualifiers" fiel erst ganz zum Schluss. In der letzten Runde musste - oder durfte - Roven Vogel gegen den Tabellenführer Nico Zwirs antreten und konnte so aus eigener Kraft Turniersieger werden. Allerdings brauchte er dafür unbedingt einen Sieg, Zwirs hingegen genügte ein Remis zum Turniersieg.
Entsprechend spannend war die Partie. Die Eröffnung schien dabei allerdings ganz im Sinne von Zwirs zu verlaufen und nach 25 Zügen und zahlreichem Abtausch stand ein ausgeglichenes Doppelspringerendspiel auf dem Brett.
Doch ein klares Remis war nicht zu sehen und Roven Vogel gelang es, die Stellung zu verschärfen und sich Gewinnchancen zu verschaffen. Kurz vor der Zeitkontrolle unterlief Zwirs dann ein entscheidender Fehler und Vogel konnte die Partie und das Turnier gewinnen.
